Report: Clippers believe they will have shot at LeBron James
Try to contain your laughter for a second: one reporter says the rebuilding Los Angeles Clippers are targeting LeBron James in free agency.
James has the option to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers next season, but if he doesn’t like the direction of the franchise, he can become a free agent and sign elsewhere.
The New York Times’ Marc Stein says the Clippers think they can have a shot at James if he becomes a free agent.
The Clippers clearly believe they can make it onto LeBron James' free-agent short list come July and, according to league sources, will indeed move DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams before the Feb. 8 trade deadline if they can find workable deals to help them in that quest

The Clippers traded Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons on Monday. They are also reportedly planning to trade DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams.
Call us crazy, but we don’t see a team highlighted by Danilo Gallinari, Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley and Patrick Beverley being one that will convince James they are the group that can help him topple the Golden State Warriors.
