Rockets reportedly agree to terms with Clint Capela

The Houston Rockets have locked Clint Capela down long-term.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Capela and the Rockets have agreed to a five-year, $90 million deal, ending his status as a restricted free agent and locking him in through 2023.

Negotiations with Capela had at times been contentious, though it doesn’t sound like they had to bump their offer up too much to get this deal done. It will come as a massive relief to Houston, who really wanted to keep their forward, who is a rising talent and a key part of their success. He averaged a career-best 13.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game last season, leading the league with a .652 field goal percentage.
