Rockets reportedly offered Clint Capela $85 million
The Houston Rockets offered Clint Capela much more money than was previously reported.
According to the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Feigen, the Rockets offered Capela a five-year, $85 million deal on July 1.
Rockets offer to Clint Capela on July 1 was five years, $85 million, two individuals with knowledge of the offer said. With incentives, the deal could be worth $90 million. Rockets remain optimistic sides a deal will be reached. "Absolutely," one of the individuals said.

A previous report said that Capela was offered just $48 million, which is nearly half the amount.
Capela’s status looms over the Rockets as they look to regroup for the 2018-19 season. The 24-year-old averaged 13.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game last season as Houston posted the best regular season record in the league. He is threatening to take the Rockets’ qualifying offer so he can become an unrestricted free agent in the future, but the Rockets seem to be optimistic about retaining him.
After already losing Trevor Ariza, Houston would not want to lose Capela.
