Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant downplay loss to Warriors: ‘We not scared’
All roads to the NBA Finals in the Western Conference go through the Golden State Warriors, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are once again being asked how they intend to get there.
The Thunder lost at Golden State 116-108 on Saturday night, and that was despite a lot of things going their way. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbook were very good, Enes Kanter contributed a double double, and Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined for a grand total of two threes. It still wasn’t enough.
Westbrook and Durant rightly don’t think it’s the end of the world.
Russell Westbrook on the Warriors: "They’re a pretty good team, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. We’ll be ready for next time."

Oklahoma City still have a chance. They pushed the Warriors about as hard as they’ve been pushed all season. On the other hand, that still wasn’t enough. Nobody really believes the Thunder are scared. The belief is simply that the Warriors are better, and it’s a very defensible position for pundits to take, no matter what Kevin Durant thinks of those opinions.
