Russell Westbrook knocks Nuggets out of playoffs with buzzer-beater
Russell Westbrook wanted to make sure nobody slighted him in the MVP race, so he came out on Sunday and went for another 50-point triple-double, capping it off with a 3-pointer from deep at the buzzer to beat the Denver Nuggets.
The Thunder were down 105-103 in Denver with 2.9 seconds left. Westbrook got the ball well beyond the 3-point line and shot it as time was about to expire, and he made it:

The shot gave Westbrook 50 points in the game, to go along with 16 rebounds and 10 assists. It was his third 50-point triple-double of the season, which is the most in NBA history. It was also his 42nd triple-double of the season — also the most in NBA history. As if all that’s not enough, the win knocked Denver out of the playoff race.
