Report: Kings preparing offer sheet for Marcus Smart
The Sacramento Kings are reportedly preparing to make a run at signing restricted free agent Marcus Smart.
The Celtics have reportedly extended a qualifying offer to Smart under which he would earn a little over $6 million for next season. Smart is reportedly considering accepting the offer.
The Celtics guard may have another alternative if the Kings follow through with extending an offer of their own, which A. Sherrod Blakely says they plan to do.

The Kings previously signed Zach LaVine to an $80 million offer sheet, but the Chicago Bulls matched it. It seems like Sacramento is still willing to spend.
Smart could provide experience and a veteran presence to a Kings team looking to end a string of under .500 seasons. Smart was reportedly hurt and disgusted with the Celtics and Danny Ainge over the lack of communication between him and the team. This could be his way out of town.
