Several fans felt Houston Rockets supporters likely experienced deja vu following their team’s playoff loss to the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors survived a physical game against the Rockets to win 95-85 in Game 1 of their first-round series at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Steph Curry was at the center of it all

Curry scored a game-high 31 points on 12/19 shooting. He also connected on several outrageous three-pointers that only he manages to make look routine.

Curry torching Houston is the stuff of nightmares for Rockets fans. James Harden’s championship-caliber Rockets teams in the 2010s never got over the massive Wardell-shaped roadblock. Steph’s Warriors eliminated the Rockets from the postseason four times from 2015 to 2019.

Facing an entirely different Rockets team in 2025, Curry once again carried Golden State to victory over Houston.

Many spectators on social media expressed sympathy for Rockets fans, who have had to deal with Curry torturing their franchise for a full decade now.

I can't even comprehend the level of hatred I would have for Stephen Curry if I was a Rockets fan. I feel like it would be corrosive for my soul. I'd be a broken man.

Rockets sold their entire team, went into a rebuild, developed this amazing young core that got them the 2 seed in the West..

Just for Curry to continue terrorizing them 6 years later with almost a completely different team, gotta be so demoralizing as a fan

in 50 years after Curry dies hes gonna be a spirit that haunts the Rockets arena for all eternity

The Rockets tasked their top perimeter defender, Amen Thompson, with slowing Curry down. It worked in the regular season, when Curry shot a brutal 1/10 from the field in a regular season game on April 6th. But playoff Curry is an entirely different beast.
