Stephen A. Smith says LeBron James could still go to Lakers, Heat
Now that LeBron James has fulfilled his promise by delivering an NBA championship to the city of Cleveland, is he more or less likely to remain with the Cavaliers for the rest of his career?
This may come as a shock, but ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is wasting no time stoking the LeBron free agency rumor mill. On Monday morning, he said he is still hearing that James could end up with the Los Angeles Lakers or Miami Heat this summer.
“From what I’ve been told, the Lakers and Heat are possiblities as a destination for LeBron James this summer.”

Smith was basically repeating what he already said a month ago. Now that James has won three titles and given Cavs fans their first championship, there are some who believe he will be inclined to join whichever team he feels gives him the best chance to chase Michael Jordan.
In other words, LeBron would have looked like the biggest jerk on earth if he left Cleveland again without delivering a title. Now that he accomplished that goal, you could argue he isn’t stuck like he was before. We know one legendary NBA player might already be recruiting LeBron for his former team.
Stephen A. will pretty much say anything to create a buzz, but his idea isn’t as insane as some think.
