Steve Kerr impressed by Celtics’ defense

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr offered praise for the Boston Celtics ahead of Saturday’s game between the teams.

Speaking with the media prior to the game, Kerr shared how impressed he has been with Boston’s play despite not having Gordon Hayward all season. He also specifically cited the Celtics’ defense.

Kerr on the Celtics without Hayward: "Their recovery as a team without him has been amazing. … The biggest thing is they’re the best defensive team in the league."

— Connor Letourneau (@Con_Chron) January 27, 2018

Boston is second in the league in points allowed per game (98.3), just behind San Antonio. Their 43.3 opponent’s field goal percentage is the best in the league. It’s no surprise then that their record is tops in the Eastern Conference and trails only Golden State and Houston in the entire league.

When you have guys like Kyrie Irving and Al Horford on your team it’s easy to get caught up in the offensive show, but like Kerr says, Boston’s defense is truly impressive.
