DeMarcus Cousins suffered a torn quad muscle before the postseason began, but there was initially optimism that he could play again this year when doctors determined that he will not have to undergo surgery. According to Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, Cousins returning to help the team in the playoffs is still a possibility.
Kerr told reporters on Sunday that Cousins is “coming along pretty well” and could be available if the Warriors advance.

Cousins had to work hard to battle back from a torn Achilles that he suffered last year, and he sat out a good portion of the season while recovering. His latest injury looked pretty ugly, but he could give the Warriors a major boost if he can play again. The big man averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 30 regular season games and really appeared to be rounding back into form before he went down.
