Superfan Clipper Darrell trolls Lakers at meager protest
The Los Angeles Lakers’ franchise has fallen on hard times, and nobody has delighted in seeing it more than Clipper Darrell.
The longtime Clippers superfan showed up at Friday’s Lakers protest outside Stales Center to dance on the grave of the city’s other team.
“The Laker era is over! It’s Clipper time!” Darrell declared in an interview with the LA Times’ Arash Markazi.

The protest was organized and mentioned by a fan on Reddit on Wednesday, with the stated goal to attract media attention. They’ve succeeded in that regard, but at the same time opened themselves up to a few laughs from Clippers fans.
The Lakers have missed the playoffs for six straight seasons. Magic Johnson abruptly quit his position as president without telling anyone ahead of time. The Lakers also appeared to botch their head coaching hire. This sort of amateur hour stuff reflects poorly on the historic franchise, and their fans are embarrassed by it.
