Tyreke Evans set for NBA comeback after reinstatement
A notable name is on his way back to the NBA after being reinstated following a drug suspension.
Veteran guard Tyreke Evans has been reinstated after a nearly three-year ban, the league announced Monday. Evans is eligible to negotiate with any team, and can sign a contract starting Friday.

Evans was initially dismissed from the league after testing positive for “drugs of abuse.” As of December, the 32-year-old had been training ahead of a possible return, so he should be in good enough shape to audition for any interested teams.
Evans was the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2009-10 and was a consistent starter for Sacramento and New Orleans during his career. He last played for the Indiana Pacers, where he averaged 10.2 points as a reserve in 2018-19.
