Tyrese Haliburton addresses his viral 50 Cent video

Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese Haliburton has addressed the viral video of him and three girls wishing rapper 50 Cent well.

Haliburton went viral on Sunday after 50 Cent shared a video on Instagram of a message Haliburton had sent him. In the video, Haliburton congratulated 50 Cent on his Las Vegas residency. The Indiana Pacers star was next to three blondes in the video, which is why the video drew so much attention.

During an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday, Haliburton was asked about the video. Haliburton said that the video was intended to be personal, but the rapper thought it was funny and shared it publicly.

“You know, Fif’s a good friend,” Haliburton said of the rapper. “We’ve become pretty close over the past couple years. Las Vegas residency — his team wanted friends and family to get him a little video. Sent the video probably later in the night than I probably should have.

“Woke up in the morning and there it was on social media. And I called Fif and I said, ‘what happened?’ And he’s like, ‘I just thought it was funny.’ So there it was. And there was no going back on it, you know, just got to embrace it.”

Haliburton has been a good sport about things and didn’t seem embarrassed when McAfee brought up the subject. The 24-year-old guard seems to be comfortable in the spotlight now, as evidenced by some of his recent social media actions. He’s also becoming known for his on-court activities, as he’s been an All-Star each of the last two seasons.
