The San Antonio Spurs have a long way to go before they can match the franchise’s glory days during the time of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. But with Victor Wembanyama in the fold, they have a reason to believe that a renaissance is coming to San Antonio.
On Monday, the Spurs notched their third win in a row, thanks in large part to another brilliant performance by Wembanyama, who needed just 26 minutes to torch the Utah Jazz for 33 points in a 123-110 win at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
According to StatMuse, the 22-year-old Wembanyama tied Ginobili on the all-time list of most 30-point games in the NBA with his productive evening at home.
It is worth noting that Ginobili had 32 games with at least 30 points during his time in the NBA, and he racked that up across 1,057 contests and 16 seasons. It only took Wembanyama 146 games to tie the four-time NBA champion in that scoring milestone.
What’s scary for the rest of the NBA is that Wembanyama hasn’t even reached his prime years yet. He is getting better in most areas, including his efficiency on offense. So far in the 2025-26 NBA season, he has a 63.3 TS% and 57.4 eFG%. Wembanyama is also making 40% of his attempts from behind the arc, while averaging 24.8 points per outing.
