Video proof Byron Scott told Jeremy Lin not to foul?

One of the more mystifying plays from the weekend came on Friday night when Kobe Bryant went nuts on Jeremy Lin for not fouling Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley in the final seconds of their game.

Lin knew how silly the decision not to foul was and tried to say he was just following coach Byron Scott’s instructions.

In our original post on the matter, I said I wasn’t sure whether Scott was covering for Lin or whether Scott really was behind the seemingly dumb move. Well a commenter sent us a link to this video, and we think it deserves your attention.

Apparently Scott really did not want Lin fouling at that time. It’s a bad strategy, but I guess it’s what we should expect from the same guy who didn’t want the Lakers taking 3-pointers and who wants Kobe taking more shots.

Lin was so embarrassed by Scott’s coaching decision he couldn’t keep himself from giggling:
