In 2023, we had Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert. Now in 2025, we have Desmond Bane and Santi Aldama.
Video went viral on Wednesday of a very heated moment between the Memphis Grizzlies teammates Bane and Aldama during their game the night before against the Utah Jazz. In the middle of a timeout huddle, Bane was seen in the video suddenly shoving down Aldama, who fell into one of the seats on the bench.
Other Grizzlies players quickly stepped in to separate the two. But Bane and Aldama continued to yell at each other from across the bench area for several more seconds.

It is unclear when exactly in the game the incident occurred because the game clock was not visible. But the Grizzlies went on to blow out the Jazz by a 140-103 final score, so the issues between Bane and Aldama were ultimately swept under the rug.
Bane, 26, and Aldama, 24, have been teammates in Memphis for the last four seasons, and both are important players each averaging double-digit points per game this season. But the Grizzlies had lost three straight games heading into Tuesday’s contest against the Jazz, so perhaps that was some frustration boiling over before they actually had the Utah game in hand.
Memphis now sits fourth in the Western Conference this season at 44-28 overall. They have generally had some pretty strong team chemistry over the last several years, but Tuesday’s incident between Bane and Aldama may challenge that perception.
