Yaxel Lendeborg became the latest member of the Golden State Warriors with a recruitment pitch for LeBron James.
Lendeborg appeared on Bleacher Report on Sunday before his Warriors’ NBA Summer League clash against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The 11th overall pick in last month’s draft was asked to make his pitch for James to come to the Bay Area, and the youngster obliged.
“I know you don’t like rookies that much, but I’m not the average rookie,” Lendeborg said. “And I would love to learn under you.
“So if you’re looking to play with the greatest shooter of all time and a close friend of yours, Draymond [Green], it would be great to come to the Warriors, and we’ll be glad to have.”

Lendeborg isn’t your average rookie in the sense that he’ll be 24 years old by the time the 2026-27 season rolls around. He’s nearly two full years older than Bronny James, who’ll be entering his 3rd season in the NBA.
The Michigan alum did not exactly make the best pitch out there, but he’s showcased his personality in the brief time he’s been in the NBA. He even admitted to hating Steph Curry during the peak of the Warriors-Cavaliers rivalry, which may earn him some brownie points from King James.
Both Green and Curry have both made their cases to try to get James into a Warriors uniform. But Green’s latest off-court drama with a former LeBron teammate may not help Golden State’s chances.
