Udonis Haslem did not take long before responding to Draymond Green’s online callout.
The Golden State Warriors star, on Sunday morning, spoke about the recent Bam Adebayo-Tyler Herro incident that resulted in the former punching the latter. Green, who infamously punched ex-teammate Jordan Poole during a practice session in 2022, recalled Haslem being critical of him during his own violent episode.
Haslem had chastised Green, then a 10-year veteran, for picking a fight with a young player he was supposed to be taking under his wing. Green felt like Haslem needed to criticize Adebayo the same way he did Green years ago.
Instead, Haslem doubled down with another public callout of Green (profanity edited by LBS).
“@Money23Green I see some things just don’t change,” Haslem wrote. “You was [sic] on sucka s–t four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole and you on sucka s–t now. I usually don’t engage but since you went so far left to get my attention here it is!!!
“If you think your big 32 year old, 3 or 4 rings at the time having a– swinging on a 23 year old Jordan Poole at the time is the same then you are even more delusional that I thought.
…
“Ion really vibe you and I think you know that so unless it’s me on prime talking hoops I won’t mention you at all. You brought me into this and I am retired and out the way. I suggest you keep it pushing cause I ain’t giving out no more hall passes bra!”
Haslem stated that Adebayo and Herro are both younger players who still “haven’t figured it all out yet,” compared to Green, who had already won four championships by the time he clashed with Poole.
The Heat veteran also claimed that Adebayo, who is “strong as a baby bear,” pulled his punch against Herro, unlike Green, whom he claimed threw a “club punch” at Poole.
You can read his full statement here.
Green has been vocal in trying to recruit LeBron James to the Warriors this offseason. One has to wonder if Haslem, who won two championships with James in Miami, would do his best to dissuade that from happening behind the scenes.
