Zion Williamson gets insulted by Mardi Gras float in New Orleans
Zion Williamson finally made another appearance in New Orleans this week … well, kind of.
The Pelicans star was the subject of a very unflattering Mardi Gras parade float in his local city on Thursday. The float, courtesy of a krewe called The Knight of Chaos, was given the name “Setback.” It featured a giant pelican inside a “Deep Fried Pelicans” bucket and also depicted Williamson himself. The float gave Williamson the jersey number “1Ton,” had him saying, “I’m hungry,” and poked fun at his contract by having him in a heap of money.
Williamson also looked extremely obese in the depiction. Take a look.

Here is another angle of the float.
Not sure Zion is gonna love the float they made for him at Mardi Gras @BarstoolNOLA

It is worth noting that many Mardi Gras floats are satirical by nature, as that is part of the culture of such parades. Williamson was not the only local sports figure that The Knights of Chaos made fun of this year either.

Williamson probably got the worst of it though, as the float definitely zeroed in on his reported weight issues. Some might dismiss the float as harmless fun. But for a player whose future in New Orleans is already shaky at best, the insulting depiction here by the locals probably won’t help matters any.
