Floyd Mayweather Jr. sat down for a private meeting with Manny Pacquiao in Pacquiao’s hotel room last month, and of course Floyd has decided to make a portion of it public.
On Saturday, Mayweather posted a short clip on Instagram that shows him telling Pacquiao the two fighters need to make the bout happen.
“You know, I congratulate him on his career — a wonderful career,” Mayweather said. “And I had a wonderful career, but before we leave the sport, of course, we have to make this fight happen.”
Did that sound scripted or what? While it does seem like Pacquiao and Mayweather are closer than ever to a fight, there is still plenty of PR and spin going on. There are some important details that are holding up the fight, and both Mayweather and Pacquiao want to make sure they can blame the other fighter if the deal falls through.
