With gubernatorial elections taking place across the country on Monday, many Americans headed to polling places to cast their votes. In Alabama, Robert Bentley and Parker Griffith are the two main candidates. On atleast one ballot, they weren’t the only names.
As seen above, University of Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper was added to the write-in section. The junior is one of the best players in college football and leads the SEC in receptions (71), receiving yards (1,132), and receiving touchdowns (9) through eight games.
Cooper’s popularity in the state of Alabama is unquestioned and it’s entirely possible this isn’t the only vote he received. This also serves as another reminder how seriously fans in Alabama take their college football.
