Duke Blue Devils head coach Jon Scheyer was all over star player Cooper Flagg even though the team was up huge late in their game over the weekend.
Duke was leading Alabama 78-63 with just under two minutes left in their East Region final game at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Saturday. Despite the Blue Devils holding a commanding lead over the Crimson Tide, Scheyer was still coaching up his team. He was seen getting on Flagg’s case for leaving his feet, which got him caught in a bad spot where he had to pass.
“Coop, don’t leave your feet to pass!” Not exactly those words. Future #1 draft pick Cooper Flagg looks at him & says “yes sir!” …….Kids, I hope you’re watching. 🏀❤️🙏🏾 @DukeMBB vs @AlabamaMBB @MarchMadnessMBB @NBA pic.twitter.com/neSeWh6L2v

Seeing Scheyer coaching as intensely with the game nearly in hand with under two minutes left is what you love if you’re a Duke fan. You don’t want your team easing up one bit. As soon as you do that, bad things can happen.
This is the type of behavior college football fans were used to seeing under Nick Saban at Alabama. It didn’t matter how much his team was leading by at the end of a game. If he saw something other than exactly what the team was supposed to be doing, he let them know — in a fierce manner.
