Maryland was not at all excited about its bracket draw, seed (Video)
Maryland has been widely recognized as one of the teams the NCAA Tournament selection committee screwed over the most.
The 27-6 Terps finished second in the Big Ten and posted eight straight wins before falling to Michigan State in the conference tournament. They boast victories over Iowa State and Wisconsin, and they are solidly ranked No. 8 in the country. A ranking like that should correspond to a two seed in the NCAA tourney or, at the least, a three seed. Instead, they wound up with a four seed, and they will have to beat Valpo in the first round and potentially Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
In light of their low seed and poor draw, Maryland players were not at all thrilled when cameras showed their reaction to their placement by the tournament committee:
