The Saint Peter’s Peacocks saw their Cinderella run end Sunday in the Elite Eight, and now they appear poised to lose their head coach as well.
Shaheen Holloway is expected to reach an agreement with Seton Hall to take over as head coach. Reports had linked Holloway with the job for the weekend, and college basketball reporter Adam Zagoria reported after the Peacocks’ loss to North Carolina that an agreement was likely within a week.
I'm told no deal is done with Shaheen and @SetonHallMBB but all signs point to this marriage most likely being wrapped up before the Final Four. https://t.co/rBMdSZeeLz

Holloway was a standout point guard for Seton Hall from 1996 to 2000, and served as an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2010 to 2018. Needless to say, he’ll be very familiar with the culture there, and the hire makes a lot of sense for both sides.
The Seton Hall job became available when Kevin Willard, Holloway’s former boss, left to take over at Maryland. The Pirates are coming off a 21-11 campaign and a first round loss in the NCAA Tournament.
