Alabama appears to have dodged a bullet with linebacker Christian Miller.
Early in the second half of the Tide’s 45-34 win over Oklahoma in Saturday’s College Football Playoff semifinal, the redshirt junior had to be helped off the field by the team’s training staff and wasn’t putting any weight on his left leg.
Hate to see @AlabamaFTBL OLB Christian Miller being helped off the field. Everyone at the @seniorbowl is praying for you, @christianmillrpic.twitter.com/nWpKaOofsc

While it looked like a potentially devastating injury, Matt Zenitz of AL.com reported after the game that the early word was it was an injury to Miller’s hamstring and not considered serious.
Miller recorded seven sacks this season for Alabama, emerging as one of their leaders on the defensive side of the ball (though he did draw Nick Saban’s wrath at times). With nine days to recover before the national title game against Clemson on Jan. 7, hopefully Miller will have a shot at playing.
