Watch: Big hit shakes up Kyler Murray, starts scuffle
Alabama’s Quinnen Williams started a bit of a firestorm with a big hit on Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray.
Williams hit Murray so hard that the Heisman Trophy winner’s helmet came off just after releasing a pass during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s College Football Playoff semifinal. Oklahoma offensive lineman Dru Samia reacted by going after Williams in a bid to protect his quarterback, and a brief scuffle ensued.

The Williams hit was a bit controversial, and it’s fair to say that the NFL may have been less kind to it. Murray, however, missed just one play due to his helmet coming off, and was back in the game as soon as he was allowed.
It was one of several big hits the Oklahoma quarterback took on the night, leading to a lot of jokes about why he might prefer baseball after the beating he took Saturday night.
