Report: At least one college team interested in Norv Turner as head coach

norv-turnerIf Norv Turner wants another head coaching job, there may be an opportunity for the Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator to score one at the end of the season.

Just not with an NFL team.

According to a report from Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Turner is being closely watched by “at least one and possibly two” college teams as a potential head coaching candidate.

Turner has long been considered one of the better offensive minds in football, but his career as a head coach has largely been mediocre. He has an overall record of 114-122, and his stint with the San Diego Chargers from 2007 to 2012 featured three playoff appearances and a whole lot of underachieving. At one point, Turner was trending on Twitter for a very unflattering reason.

Turner has not coached at the collegiate level since he was the offensive coordinator at USC back in 1984.
