The Colorado Buffaloes held their spring game on Saturday, and coach Deion Sanders used the occasion to set something of a target for the 2024 season.
Speaking to the crowd, Sanders took time to address 99-year-old Colorado fan Peggy Coppom, who was in attendance. Sanders made a pledge to her, and it involved the Buffaloes reaching a bowl game next season.

“We’re going to get you to a bowl game, baby,” Sanders promised.
A bowl game is an obvious target, since the Buffaloes went 4-8 last season. They certainly looked to be on the way to a bowl after a 3-0 start, but lost eight of their last nine games. A two-game improvement in Sanders’ second season is reasonable.
Of course, Sanders has been dealing with a roster exodus and some criticism from at least one outgoing transfer. The challenge might be a bit steeper than it looks at first glance.
