Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz is the latest college football coach to embrace recruiting videos that go viral for sheer awkwardness.
Video of Drinkwitz during a recent recruiting video went viral on Wednesday, as he seemingly mimed playing guitar while offensive line recruit Henry Fenuku raised a WWE belt. Drinkwitz, of course, comes away looking extremely awkward.

The video immediately drew comparisons to LSU coach Brian Kelly’s awkward recruiting videos, including from Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin. Drinkwitz, however, was not having any of it. He defended himself for “jamming out to some Creed” during the photoshoot.

Credit to Drinkwitz for owning it. He does seem at least a little more self-aware of how ridiculous he looks than Kelly did. Plus, at least in this instance, Drinkwitz did land the recruit, which is not something Kelly can say.
Drinkwitz has shown himself to have a pretty good sense of humor. He probably knew how silly he would look and did it anyway.
