Report: Eric Bieniemy no longer candidate for Colorado head coach job
Eric Bieniemy reportedly will not be the next head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
According to Troy Renck of ABC 7 in Denver, multiple sources indicated Wednesday that Bieniemy would not move forward as a candidate for the Colorado job.
Told this morning from multiple sources that Bieniemy not moving forward for CU job. Will be top candidate to land NFL spot after this season. Bielema remains in mix. Have not independently confirmed AFA’s Troy Calhoun interviewed. But he makes sense as candidate #Denver7

As Renck notes, Bieniemy will continue to get buzz as an NFL head coaching candidate in years to come. That’s a better gig than the Colorado job, and he has a quality position as Kansas City’s offensive coordinator until that happens.
Colorado is running into the same problem Michigan State had — it’s hard to find a quality coach at this point in the offseason. The Spartans got lucky in that they could offer Mel Tucker lots of money to leave the Buffs. Colorado doesn’t have that level of resources, and may have to settle for a name like this as they look to replace Tucker.
