Frank Gore’s son commits to FAU
Frank Gore is one the best running backs to ever come out of the University of Miami, but his son will not be following in his footsteps.
Gore’s son, running back Frank Gore Jr., committed to FAU this week. He’s choosing to play for Lane Kiffin after getting offers from several other schools, but it does not sound like Miami was one of them.
KIllian RB Frank Gore Jr commits to FAU. His other reported offers: Kentucky, Southern Miss, Chattanooga. His father, the former UM and Dolphin standout, told me last season that Miami hadn't offered his son.

The elder Gore missed time at Miami because of a knee injury in 2002, but he averaged an absurd 9.1 yards per carry while helping to lead Miami to a national title during his freshman season. He ended up with 1,975 yards and 17 touchdowns in his college career, but the Hurricanes must not think his son has as much talent. Either way, Gore Jr. will have a good chance to thrive playing in Kiffin’s offense.
