Georgia Southern serving students gator in honor of win over Florida
Florida may be having a terrible season, but that does not mean Georgia Southern’s win over the Gators two weeks ago was not one of the most important in program history. The FCS school pulled off a 26-20 upset win over Florida on Nov. 23, and the Eagles are still celebrating.
In honor of their big victory, Georgia Southern’s dining halls served up gator on Monday. Students had a choice of trying fried alligator, buffalo gator bites and alligator sliders.
I can’t speak for buffalo gator bites or alligator sliders, but fried gator isn’t actually as bad as it sounds. I’ve had it before and it pretty much tasted like chicken. Then again, I’ve never had it to celebrate one of the biggest wins in my school’s history. It probably tastes a little better to Georgia Southern students.
