Watch: Iowa kick returner narrowly escapes disaster, breaks off long return
Iowa kick returner Ihmir Smith-Marsette looked to have made a disastrous decision in his handling of an Indiana kickoff, but he certainly made the best of it and produced a highlight reel play in the process.
Smith-Marsette seemed to misjudge the flight of the kick and picked it up inside his own five yard line, where he appeared to be cornered by Hoosiers special teamers. No worries, though, as he managed to duck the tacklers and peel up the sideline, culminating in a rather epic hurdle at the end of it.
This is a very eventful kickoff return. pic.twitter.com/bMcKhfq8YO

Indiana’s special teams coach probably won’t be too thrilled with how that played out, especially with Smith-Marsette seemingly buried inside the five. Good skill from the return man, though.
