As recently as two months ago, Memphis running back Jarvis Cooper was so proud to be a Tiger that he got a tattoo to prove it. The soon-to-be junior tweeted a photo of his new ink back in March, which showed Cooper in a Memphis uniform.

And now he’s transferring.
On Tuesday, Memphis announced that Cooper will be continuing his collegiate career elsewhere in 2016.
“Jarvis is a fine young man who has represented the University of Memphis well,” new head Mike Norvell said in a statement, via Nick Bromberg of Dr. Saturday. “With our current depth at running back, he is looking for an opportunity to be in a more featured role and for a fresh start. We wish him all the best in his future.”
Cooper, who had 91 carries for 389 yards and five touchdowns last season, is not ashamed that he has branded himself a Tiger for life.

Tattoos are always risky, and we saw a similar situation a few years back when a top recruit flipped his commitment to a rival school despite already getting this artwork on his arm. Kudos to Cooper for embracing his decision.
