Jim Harbaugh going to Ruth’s Chris to take advantage of promotion

Jim Harbaugh and his wife Sarah are going to Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Ann Arbor this week to take advantage of a major discount his football team helped create.

You may recall that Ruth’s Chris in Ann Arbor announced a promotion last week that said they would discount meals Sunday-Thursday by the percent matching the Wolverines’ margin of victory in football games.

Since Michigan destroyed Rutgers 78-0 on Saturday, many were eager to take advantage of the promotion this week. But Ruth’s Chris had to clarify that the discount maxed out at 50 percent, and it only applies to the food portion of the bill. Still, for a pricey eatery, that’s one heck of a deal.

Knowing Harbaugh and how much he loves his steak, it’s no surprise that he wanted to take advantage of the deal.

“My wife Sarah and I are going to Ruth’s Chris this week — I want to thank Buzz Goebel (the general manager) for getting us in, because it’s all sold out,” Harbaugh said Monday on his radio show.

Harbaugh also said he was “tickled” by the promotion.

The Wolverines are 6-0 and still have several more games left on their schedule to continue racking up the discounts. Harbaugh and his team sure are doing a lot to make the fans happy. And we’re glad Harbaugh’s focused on eating proper things now.
