During the first quarter of Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Oklahoma, Joe Mixon scored the first points of the game for the Sooners on a play that should not have counted.
With Oklahoma trailing 14-0, Mixon fielded a kickoff and proceeded to return it 97 yards for a touchdown. However, prior to crossing the goal line, Mixon dropped the ball.
The play was not reviewed by the officials and the touchdown stood.
Last week, the same thing happened to this player from Clemson, which resulted in a touchback for Troy. Mixon and Oklahoma, obviously, caught a huge break.
