Minnesota came up short in its bowl game against Missouri on New Year’s Day, but tight end Maxx Williams came up big in the loss.
Williams caught 7 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in what amounted to one of his best games of the season. He scored on a 54-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Gophers a brief lead 14-13.
Williams showed some incredible anticipation and athleticism with the play as he hurdled two men on the way to the end zone. Earlier in the game, he also shed a tackle for a big first down before half time. The guy was awesome.
