Nick Saban: Georgia ‘deserves’ to be in College Football Playoff
Nick Saban campaigned for Georgia to be included in the College Football Playoff following Saturday’s SEC Championship Game.
After Alabama came back to beat the Bulldogs 35-28 in a game where they mostly trailed, Saban said he didn’t want to face Georgia again. He also said based on whom Alabama played, Georgia deserves to be in the playoff.
This is true. Saban said, "I sure as hell don't want to play them again." Saban said, "based on the teams we played this year, this team sure deserves to be in to be the playoff as well." https://t.co/jwu4E9If3C

Nearly everyone associated with the game was making the same case. The TV broadcasters on CBS were arguing that Georgia deserves to be in. The SEC commissioner said the conference deserved two teams. And Georgia coach Kirby Smart made his case for why the Bulldogs should be included.
Despite everyone campaigning for Georgia to make it, there’s no way they do. The Bulldogs have lost twice this season and choked away their opportunity to get in. They had Bama on the ropes and screwed it up. Oklahoma (or another 1-loss team) should join Alabama, Clemson (provided a win over Pitt) and Notre Dame in the Playoff.
