Nicki Meyer, Gigi Meyer Defend Dad Urban Meyer Against Ohio State Rumors, Fans
The Meyer girls are fed up with people talking about their daddy. As more and more controversy begins to build within the Ohio State football program, talk of Jim Tressel’s dismissal has picked up. Urban Meyer has been a popular speculation pick to replace Tressel, but his daughters, Nicki and Gigi, are tired of hearing people bad mouth their father and took to Twitter to put the haters in their place and let everyone know Urban is not going to Ohio State. Check out some of these entertaining Tweets.
Damn, those girls mean business. As you likely gathered, the person who really seemed to set them off is Twitter user HSPN_Ed, who describes himself as a “stern fan” and “Ohio State faithful.” He clearly is not a fan of Meyer and let everyone know about it, which offended the Meyer girls. It’s easy to make fun of Meyer’s daughters for being all sensitive, but most of us don’t know what it would be like to have people crapping all over our parent on Twitter so it’s tough to say how we would react. You go girls!
As for the football side of it, Meyer to OSU makes no sense. Although he once said the three schools we would coach at other than Florida are Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, I just don’t see it. He won two national titles at Florida and would not have walked away if he could still coach. He had a tremendous thing going in Gainesville without Tim Tebow. He already left coaching once and returned and I doubt it will happen again — especially with his daughters insisting it won’t. The high-profile hire would make perfect sense for OSU if they fire Tressel, but not Urban and his family.
