On Friday, the late Joe Paterno once again became the winningest coach in college football history when the NCAA announced a settlement had been reached with the university.

The result was the restoration of 112 wins (111 of which came under Paterno) that were stripped due to the scandal involving assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. The 111 victories pushes Paterno’s career total back to 409, 32 ahead of second place Bobby Bowden.

When Penn State’s men’s hockey team took the ice for their game Friday evening, they did so wearing helmets with the above pictured “409” decals on them. According to CBS’ Dennis Dodd, the men’s basketball team will wear t-shirts with “409” on Saturday.

While the school is glad to have the victory total back in the record book, this may not be the only domino to fall. Pennsylvania Senator Jake Corman, lead plaintiff in the settlement case, said he thinks Joe Paterno’s statue should return.
