The son of a legendary former NFL quarterback took a recruiting visit to Texas on Sunday.

Gunner Rivers, the son of Philip Rivers, was among several recruits hosted by the Longhorns for a visit. Gunner is rated as a 4-star recruit by 247 Sports’ composite rankings. 247 Sports has Rivers rated especially high; they have him as the No. 23 player nationally and No. 1 player in the state of Alabama for the class of 2027.

Rivers is listed as 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds. He attends St. Michael Catholic in Alabama and has received scholarship offers from Auburn, Boston College, Miami, NC State and South Carolina. He took a visit to Auburn a few months ago.

•Standing at 6’3 203, His arm looks unbelievable in person. The footwork & IQ are elite beyond his youth. The ability to make any throw on the field separate him from many. Last season, Rivers… pic.twitter.com/ClSgXD0deH

In this video, you can see how similar his throwing motion is to his father, who was an 8-time Pro Bowl QB in the NFL.
