Shane Victorino fell for obvious Oregon April Fools joke
Either Shane Victorino is extremely gullible or he has one wicked sense of humor.
On Friday, Oregon football’s official Twitter account informed the world that the school will be installing the world’s first LED football field at Autzen Stadium for the 2016 season. Given the date – April 1 – and, well, the feasibility and playability of such a field, it was obvious to most that it was an April Fools’ joke.

Any doubt about it being a prank was resolved in the corresponding news article, which featured a quote from Hank Scorpio, CEO of Globex Corporation and noted Simpsons character.
Longtime MLB player and Oregon fan Shane Victorino either didn’t check the article, didn’t do the mental math, or simply didn’t care.
WOW…always setting the standard??Can't wait to watch some @WinTheDay!!! #GoDucks https://t.co/Qqj0Qhjj5k

Maybe Victorino was in on the joke. I’d really, really like to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Sure, Oregon is basically the only collegiate athletics program who would realistically attempt something like this, but it should be pretty easy to spot this as a prank. We wonder if Victorino fell for this, too.
