Stanford QB KJ Costello questionable for USC game

Stanford Cardinal

Stanford will enter its second game of the 2019 season with uncertainty at the quarterback position.

Starting quarterback KJ Costello is questionable for Saturday’s game against USC after suffering an injury on a hit that knocked him out of the team’s win over Northwestern.

Costello took a hit to the head at the end of the first half and did not play in the second half. The Cardinal still won the game 17-7.

If there is anything reassuring about entering Saturday’s game at USC with Costello questionable, it’s that their opponents are in a similar spot. Trojans starting quarterback JT Daniels suffered a season-ending knee injury against Fresno State, leaving them with true freshman Kedon Slovis as the starter.
