Things didn’t go great for Iowa at the Rose Bowl, but the Hawkeyes fans who made the trip to Pasadena will at least fondly remember Tom Arnold’s appearance on Friday.
The actor and comedian, who attended Iowa, was interviewed on the stadium big screen during a timeout, and, well, it didn’t matter that his team was down 35-0 before halftime. Tom Arnold was pumped up and ready to go and probably tailgated harder than anyone else in the stadium did, and he wanted the rest of Hawkeye Nation to be as pumped up as he was.

That was a loud “we’ve got them right where we want them” proclamation, just in case you couldn’t hear it clearly. Who cares if Iowa was behind by five touchdowns? If only the rest of us could be as optimistic as Tom Arnold, the world would be a better place. Now if only he could find a way to stop Christian McCaffrey, perhaps the Hawkeyes would have been in business.
