The Alabama Crimson Tide will be without Tua Tagovailoa for at least one week.
Alabama coach Nick Saban released an update on his star quarterback, stating that Tagovailoa won’t play against Arkansas, but a “full and speedy recovery” is anticipated. Tagovailoa suffered a high ankle sprain — the same injury he dealt with in 2018, though this time, it’s the other ankle.

Tagovailoa hurt his ankle in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Tennessee as he was being tackled. Recall that he sprained his other ankle in the SEC Championship last year, and that injury lingered a full month through the playoff.
The timing isn’t great for Alabama, either. The Crimson Tide are three weeks away from a massive game against LSU. The fact that they have a bye week ahead of it helps, but it remains to be seen how healthy Tagovailoa will be able to get before then.
