Will Muschamp has reportedly reached out to former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore about a potential position on Muschamp’s hypothetical coaching staff, according to a new report.
Muschamp reached out to the former Gamecocks star to offer him a position on a potential coaching staff, sources close to Lattimore told the State on Friday. It is unclear what the position would be, and Lattimore hasn’t decided if he would take it yet.
The source also said that South Carolina President Harris Pastides implied to Muschamp that “they’re going to try to get this thing done as soon as possible.”
The source noted that Lattimore is intrigued by the offer, though he has previously said he had only marginal interest in a college coaching position due to the time commitments involved.
We already knew that Muschamp was very much on South Carolina’s radar, but if he’s talking potential staff, it seems that he’s the clear frontrunner.
