Allen Iverson reportedly owes ex-wife $40,000 in unpaid child support
Last we checked in on Allen Iverson’s divorce, the former NBA star was being scolded by the judge in the case for being a poor parent. It sounds like Iverson’s irresponsibility has continued.
According to TMZ, Iverson’s ex-wife, Tawanna, has filed more documents with the court. She reportedly claims that Iverson has failed to make any child support payments since the judgment was handed down.
Iverson is supposed to pay his ex-wife $8,000 a month for their five children, but he has not made one payment. Tawanna is hoping the judge will order Iverson to pay the $40,000 and is suggesting jail as a possible punishment for the missed payments.
Iverson, the 2000-2001 NBA MVP, last played in the league in the 2009-2010 season. He and his ex-wife have had multiple problems in recent years. In addition to the divorce and child support issues, the two were fighting over a mansion that was in foreclosure.
Iverson supposedly has blown through over $154 million earned in his playing career, though a separate report said he still had $35 million in a savings account.
