The FBI on Thursday released some information about a “person of interest” in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, a conservative political activist, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday. The 31-year-old was on a stop for his “American Comeback Tour” and speaking from inside a pop-up tent when he was killed.
The FBI shared photos of a person wearing a black hat, black sunglasses, and black long-sleeve shirt with blue jeans climbing some stairs.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University,” the FBI Salt Lake City X account posted.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls spoke with the media and shared some progress on the case.
“This morning I can tell you that we recovered what we believe is the weapon that was used in yesterday’s shooting. It is a high-powered bolt-action rifle. That rifle was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. The FBI labratory will be analyzing this weapon. Investigators have also collected footwear impression, a palm print and forearm imprints, for analysis,” he said.
One MLB team paid tribute to Kirk on Wednesday following his death, while a team fired an employee over their reaction to the murder.
