Nate Robinson serious about pursuing football dream (Video)
Back in 2011, Nate Robinson raised a few eyebrows when he said during an interview he might go play football during the NBA lockout while other players were heading overseas to play. Nearly five years later, Robinson has again brought up the idea of putting on pads. However, this time, he seems much more serious about it.
Robinson released a video through The Lead Sports this week to declare his intentions. The almost four-minute production includes appearances by former University of Washington head football coach Rick Neuheisel, Jamal Crawford, Glen Davis, Marcedes Lewis, and Brendon Ayanbadejo.
Robinson admits he hasn’t played in 11 or 12 years, but that certainly doesn’t appear to phase him. The 31-year-old went to Washington on a football scholarship and played in 13 games as a freshman, including the final six as a starter at cornerback. Robinson then focused his attention towards basketball, which led to an 11-year NBA career.
Despite appearing to be quite serious, there were more than a few people who are doubting if Robinson intends to go through with pursuing his dream. Robinson found himself a topic of discussion on ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption” and wrote a message on his Instagram account urging us to take him seriously.
Good luck, Nate.
