Samantha Goudie aka Vodka Samm embarrassed, went into depression
Samantha Goudie, better known to the internet world as Vodka Samm, disappeared from the online world after experiencing infamy fame for blowing a .341 during an arrest at an Iowa football game on August 31.
The University of Iowa senior opened up to the Daily Iowan in her first interview since her story went viral last month. In the interview, Goudie says she was embarrassed by all the attention she received and went into a depression.
“I was completely embarrassed by the whole situation,” Goudie confessed to the Daily Iowan. “I hated going to class.
“I’ve struggled with depression, so I kind of went into a depression for a little bit.”
Goudie also reveals that she was hospitalized for three months in 2012 because of an eating disorder. She is planning to go to graduate school for social work so she can help others.
Goudie says she declined interview requests and endorsement opportunities in the wake of her story getting national attention.
“I didn’t come to college to drink and be Vodka Samm.”
